Eye Color Pencil Drawing

I did this drawing last year. And this is the drawing i have spend the most amount of time drawing ( in this format ) If i remember correctly it was well over 30 hours of work =)

The technique i found during this drawing was : I work in layers and my first layer was done with markers - just to get the color going. Than i did a detail pass with color soft pencils , they are great but they seem to be hard to blend.
After that i did a hard layer with water based color pencil from Derwent , i did not use any water with them i only used them as a blending tool of the second layer. ( thats a easy way i found to blend color soft pencils ) .
After all of that i did a new layer with normal graphite pencils, and they are easy to lay on top of all of the other layers. Than i added another layer with white tattoo color just to make it more pop ( add the fleshy details on the skin pores )

This eye ( my eye reference photo ) was also a part of the first competition that i had. With about 350-400 entry's. So many amazing drawings came out from that competition =)

Tomorrow i will share with you my newest large scale drawing =)

here are few more eye drawings i did last year :
