I don't like seeing imagery this way at all!     However...........

This statement he wrote makes a point that is not only very important, but needs to be addressed.
Everyone is so caught up in these social sites that they don't realize what their doing.
Weather its because "everyone else is doing it" or "all my friends do" or even if they think "it can do no harm".
These sites and the whole idea of them, are promoting degrading and harmful mental patterns.
Just about everyone one of them gets sucked into a constant need to one-up one another in order to feel worthy.
It plays on a very delicate issue with self worth.
And it promotes not only putting one person above another, but also that one is not good enough to be one's self.
Everything involved in these sites are fake. The people (the way they portray themselves), their lives, ect.
For what?
They are all being used for companies (weather they are aware or not) through the gathering of their personal information and photos, for sales.
They are promoting a continuation of "High School" mentalities of grouping people into categories and saying one is better than another.
Providing a source for people to judge, bully and scrutinize one another.
Or constantly comparing themselves to others who are considered..."cool" or "attractive" or "what's in" ect....
While YouTube can be used for instructional, educational videos, motivational videos or music ect.......
They seem to be mostly full of people posting their every moment online.
"This is how I get ready in the morning," or "this is what I do,"
"This is my stuff" ect.  All in order to feel better about themselves, feed an egotistical mindset, or for constant validation.
You are harming yourself willingly by participating in it.

I hope I understood you Dino, if this is along the lines of what you meant...... Bravo!
It takes a lot of courage to go your own way.
It takes a very confidant and courageous person to voice their opinion and go against the grain. Clap

Great comment!!
You wrote this straight off my mind.
Thankyou!
The whole world should see this comment.

As a matter of fact, i don't have facebook, instagram, snap or twitter because of this! Literally.
I had facebook 6 years ago when i was 13, and it gave me such an hard time, and it almost killed me.
So i got the courage almost nobody who has a social media like this would ever have, -to delete my account.
Even tho i had over a thousand "friends"

And everything got so much better!
I had freedom, no pressure, no bullying, no fucking drama between friends through chat, no stupid things to be involved in... and eveything that comes with it!
I can do whatever i want without being judged for it.
I don't care what's"cool" and what's not.

I could mention so much more.

But recommend everyone to try a day or more without any social media at all.
And do something you like to do.

It changed my life to the better

I'm glad to hear! :)
Sometimes I rant and go on forever or get too fired up.
I only wanted to express something that is going on that few people have realized.
I didn't at first, but when I did I wanted nothing to do with it.
I just don't want to see people falling into it and hurting themselves or degrading their self worth.
Over what?
Technically a game someone made up to benefit from profits?
At what cost to people? For social pressures?

Its just like...... there is enough things in life in general to cause someone to be upset or uncomfortable.... why add to it?

I too would recommend going a week without it, huge difference.....

Huggle! Huggle! hugs to you TheMoonRaven I wish great happiness and prosperity to you and everyone here....Heart Heart

Can only agree on this one. I have never had facebook or anything alike. And this made people ask me why not.
Then I told them that I don't like the concept of onlybeeing "good" if you had 100 freinds or more. I can count my friends with one hand. But I know them, I met them and I understand them. They are not some strangers, or people I might have met 3 years ago.

Emotional scars as well. But people really did kill themselves because the harassing/mobbing wouldn't even stop after school. The internet can be cruel. Social media can be a blessing and a curse. - There can be many meanings behind it. But this is what I see. - Very expressive. Very brave.

I think this piece is saying, "People will do anything to get attention on social media, even harming themself".

Correct me if I'm wrong.

a lot of people who self harm dont do it for attention. most people who do it dont tell anymore... althought i do see where you are coming from. i think this piece is saying that social media can be detrimental to a persons mental status. the stigma behind self harm can be harmful

Sometimes i think that society sees those who self harm as less than them but i think that everyone wants attention but these people have felt so neglected that self harm becomes their cry for somone to care and i think its ok to want attention. Not ok to self harm but everyone wants attention..

I know. It's really sad that people would do that. I know it's their way for coping, but there are better options instead of using a knife.

For a lot of ppl it can be addicting like a drug. There are better optionons but some ppl have a lot of trouble not harming themselves. I haven't cut in 2 years but i still think about it every day

This is a very powerful concept and greatly executed into art :) You draw hands very well!!
My one little critique would be that the hand holding the razor has a shorter fingernail than the other hand :D
