thank you for sharing this spread, it had inspired me in the years I was lurking on DA without an account to much more actively learn how to draw instead of relying on 'talent' or otherwise laziness. Most recognized artistic skill are hard earned and often more fulfilling :D (Big Grin).

It's amazing! No question about that!

But this makes me ask myself, if I should continue practicing and come off of my laziness, or if I should give it up because it takes 2 long to learn...?

Definitely don't give up! Even if you don't become as good as him (I'm 99% I won't), art is still something that can bring a lot of joy! And even if me or you are not as good as him, we can still be proud of our work. I at least am, as I know I'm improving even if it's slow.

That is an awesome journey. I love seeing how people have developed through the years. It gives confidence to people who are not as good but trying and working at becoming better.

I love the tattoo work - I am always very impressed with people who do great tattoo work, it seems like it would be harder because you are working with a different type of canvas.

I saw all the picture. I have to say it: you had a marked imagination from your young age.You walked along, trying other kinds of art without the fear to make bad works. You just pushed it, got trust in yourself, going thorugh your limits, surpassing them. And your art is STILL evolving...WOW.You keep going because you want to make new experiences, reach new goals, like you had a vision of what kind of stuff you want to make. I've seen a lot of good artist on this site making works with the same style without changing, to have favourites because much deviants like it. But you are a beautiful exception, making always new things! And Do you want to know a thing? I just got inspired seeing your works!! Amazing! I'm really happy to have discovered you and hope you keep going in this way!  Your works are beautiful (perfects, if I can say this!!!)!!!Oops!

i have read that and... why did you do what "people excpected you to do"? Just because they liked the other pictures less .... i don't know...why stopping to do what you liked? Is that really more important? I can't grasp that properly, but maybe i am not seeing all there is to it?

This is amazing. All about this article is! From what i see it is indeed with hard work and pushing our limits that we can do amazing things! I started just like you, at a very early age ( about 7-8 years old) but i always was somewhat negative about myself. Never really see the positive in my failure, wich leaded me to stop working on this gift ( visual art gift, because if hard dedicated work is a thing, i really believe that pure talent has a thing to so with it)
I really admire your devotion of constanly pushing yourself. Your art is amazing, but what i admire the most is the fact you didnt stop, no Matter what!

Having this ability to draw has probably saved my Life. I cant Tell where i'd been in Life if it wasnt for art! I wish you feel the same way and that even if you dont continue to produce as much art, you continue to use it as your little bubble! ( hope my english is not too bad Ahahah)

Anyway hope you achieve your next goal, what ever it is :)

Hoooollyyy shit. I defiantly appreciate all the work you did to put this together! I loved looked at all your artwork!!
You've become my new inspiration *0* Drawing is what I love to do best and I've decided I'm going to push myself a lot more now to practice as much as possible and to draw every single day! It shouldn't be that hard since I love to draw ;) But me and my friend are about to start a comic, his story, my art, and ive been super nervous to start since I want him to be proud of it and ive never done a comic before, but I keep hesitating. I've decided I'm gonna push myself to start it this week or else im gonna keep hesitating! Thanks for the inspiration!! And sorry for the long comment :D

Hi Dino Tomic,

I have just finished reading this and well to be honest I was inspired and exhausted lol! It must have taken such patients and hard work every single day of your life to do this! You must really love art!
You actually remind me of a younger me! When I was in Middle and Upper school, I lived and breathed art. It was an escape from an unhappy childhood of arguing parents who eventually divorced! I thought it was the only thing that I was good at and it was a means of escape for me. I never believed in anything else! My parents didn't show me a happy family life so I wanted a career from Art!
My parents broke up and I lived with my Nan for a little while and then I moved to Lincoln to live with my Dad and his  wife. When I was at Lincoln, I did a foundation degree in college and I did Illustration at University but found as my personal life was settling down, I lost a lot of inspiration so I stopped drawing as much.
However, my Uni years were also the years that I actually noticed I was suffering with panic attacks, anxiety and depression and I noticed that I was actually trying to find myself. But still, I lost a lot of inspiration…I was finding it was my parents and my Nan who didn't want me to give up my talent and I just wanted to be happy! I went into care because I also wanted to help people.
Eventually, Mum became ill so I moved back to Bedfordshire to live with her and my stepdad but unfortunately my Mum passed away in January and my Stepdad is in hospital at present with terminal cancer. I've fallen in love too and I believe that he is the love of my life and I never want to loose that most important thing to me! It beats materialistic things anyway.
In myself I am happier now. My depression is under control with medication and I have seen councillors. I have also learnt to take it easy and not to be too hard on myself, I must enjoy life and value those that are most important. Well, that is my opinion anyways.
I have to be honest I miss being creative! It seems I have my inspiration back now. I work as a shop assistant now but have considered going into being a makeup artist! I started Deviantart up just yesterday.
What I got from this is that you never gave up…even if you believe that a piece of your art work was not good enough you keep trying, you kept every drawing you ever produced in your life and you can see the progression. You experimented with different media no matter how hard it was for you! You kept looking for what worked for you! That is truly inspirational! It really is! I found in University the tutors loved those in Illustration who had already had a identifiable style already and they seemed not to be impressed with me as I kept trying different medias and hadn't found what worked for me! I am so glad that I read this post today and feel that there are people out there like who I used to be in university who still to this day at the age of 26 (I am also 26) still finding themselves, still finding their style and never giving up and who are continually trying to evolve from yesterday!
I just want to say, well done on achieving your goals and dreams. I achieved mine when I started University…I just didn't know what I wanted to do after that! I guess creative people have to remember that rome wasn't built in a day.
I just want to leave behind something of me. So that my family can see that I believed in love, hope and faith and no matter how hard life got, I never gave up! I just want people to feel that I am an inspiration to them…if I can inspire one person than I guess I have achieved what I wanted to do in life! Maybe I could do this through art/through creating something that people will look at and smile to themselves.
I have to say…your huge portraits of your family are so amazing and beautiful…every colour and every wrinkle on there faces are beautiful! But that is like life…life is beautiful and delicate and can also be horrific…like your art work…dark and light.
Good luck with the future :) I hope you never stop creating and I hope you never loose inspiration because your work is amazing and it seems many people think that too! It looks like you have touched many :) del done again!
